Developing the Skills and Preparing for ICE Technician Membership (Part Time)

On this course you’ll prepare the documents you need to submit to ICE for the Technician Professional Review. The taught content will be based on ICE 3002A and the student’s own work experience.

Course content

You’ll be taught by highly experienced lecturers, including Phil Brown, the Southampton Solent University HNC Civil Engineering Course Leader, and Annie Silver, ICE Membership Development Officer. We’ll support and guide you with informative feedback throughout the five key parts of the application process, which include:

• Record of Development Objectives
• Experience Report
• Project Report
• CPD Log
• Project Presentation/Interview.

The tutors will advise you on the necessary documentation and the nature of the professional review. You’ll also develop your skills in planning, presentation, reflection and communication.

Assessment

Based on their work experience, each student will have to record and show evidence of how they have achieved the ICE Development Objectives as presented in ICE 3005A. The unit will be assessed and, on successful completion, will form part of the requirements that will allow candidates to sit the ICE Technician Professional Review (TPR).
