A practical, hands-on approach is taken to develop your knowledge and skills of outside broadcast production. You will be introduced to the uses and limitations of individual pieces of equipment which may be selected for a particular application, and gain an understanding of the planning, rigging and health and safety requirements of an outside broadcast.
Using this knowledge you will address a series of progressively demanding outside broadcast challenges. You could film a pop music performance at a live event such as the Glastonbury festival, a football or cricket match at a local school or college, or a fashion show or theatrical performance using the University’s own fashion and performing arts facilities. After each event you will return to the lecture theatre to assess the success of the venture and to plan for the next challenge.
