PRINCE2 2009 Foundation

This course is a must if you are managing multiple projects and need to understand the fundamentals of project management.

Overview:

The PRINCE2 Foundation course will focus on equipping the delegate with a detailed knowledge of the PRINCE2 methodology including the seven principles, seven processes and seven themes central to running a project using this method. The successful completion of the Foundation Exam will give the delegate a recognised Foundation qualification and will then enable them to progress on to the practitioner qualification.

Organisations or individuals who see the need for a controlled approach to managing projects.

Course Structure:

• 3-day course, suggested 15 hours of pre-course preparation
• 1-hour multiple choice, closed book Foundation Exam on the third day
• Evening work based on exercises set and marked by the trainer that will amount to one hour every evening
• Delegates are encouraged to complete evening work to ensure the best chance of an exam pass

• Introduction - basics of PRINCE2; PRINCE2 principles, themes and processes
• Project lifecycle - processes, themes and documents used to assess viability of a project
• Initiation stage - processes, themes and documents used to initiate a project
• Subsequent delivery stages - processes, themes and documents used to run through, more that once if necessary, the subsequent delivery stages
• Final delivery stages - processes, themes and documents used to complete the project, handing it over to operations
• Exam preparation - review of exam questions, mapped against key areas of the PRINCE2 manual; how to approach the exam; mock exam practice
