Experienced local printmakers, artists and community art groups will benefit from the opportunity to use very affordable and good quality resources. Using our specialist equipment there is the scope to produce screen prints, etchings and digital prints on paper or fabric.

This is specifically aimed at experienced printmakers who can competently produce their own work without the need for formal instruction.

This is entirely self-directed and you are given the freedom to develop your own work at entirely your own pace.

You will have access to specialist printmaking facilities including: studio desk space, screen printing presses, etching facilities, IT (Mac) with digital printing facilities, exposure units and wash-off facilities. A specialist print technician will be on hand to support. You will have the freedom and space to produce your own prints and the flexibility and time to work at your own pace. It is also a great way to meet other local artists and printmakers!

There are no specific entry requirements, however prior experience of printmaking is essential (a short telephone interview with the tutor/technician is required to determine suitability and to provide guidance). Printing consumables are not included in the course fee. You can opt to provide your own or pay for consumables through the College.

The Printmaker’s Open Studio easily compliments other skills and further courses in drawing, painting and design-based disciplines. Participants may have their own business or may be looking to exhibit and sell their work through galleries, private commissions or art fairs.
