The pathway is delivered through a range of interactive, fun and practical activities to enable you to develop essential skills and qualities to take onto the next level of Construction or employment.

You will be given the opportunity to work individually and in small groups to develop your construction skills through a range of practical and theory lessons and will be supported by a personal tutor through a varied tutorial programme.

The benefits of doing the course:
• English and maths
• Employability skills
• An awareness of the construction industry.
• Practical skills in carpentry, brickwork, painting and decorating and tiling.

You do not need qualifications to join this pathway. However you will need a successful interview with a member of the teaching team to show your commitment to full time study and your interest in the subject. We will also expect a satisfactory school report. As part of your interview we will assess your levels of English and maths and advise you of the most appropriate level to study.

Once you have completed the course successfully at Entry Level you will have the choice to progress onto another course within the Construction department. This may mean specialising in a particular trade or choosing to do another general construction course at Level 1. This course will also give you essential employability skills to look for employment in the construction industry.
