The QMU MBA fulfils the University’s vision of providing an industry relevant and interdisciplinary experience for students. We consulted widely with employers and industry experts in devising this course. We know that employers look ‘beyond the letters’ when recruiting and want employees with real-life experience; we’ve replaced the traditional
dissertation with a student-centred, business focused project that allows you to investigate, design and engage in a real world project. In a world that is constantly changing employers told us that they want staff that can apply their
knowledge effectively within the workplace; and critically within the dynamics of high performing groups and teams. By connecting our modular structure our programmes take a clear and consistent focus on team and project dynamics, and challenges you to take on different types of roles in delivering objectives.

The teaching team who deliver the Masters programmes have experience of leading high-profile teams in industry and academia as well as the public and third sectors. They are enthusiastic about their areas of expertise and just as enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with you. Single Modules: Register as an associate student to study single module sin areas of interest

Duration: Full-time: 1 year; Part-time: 2 - 7 years
Start date: September and January
Application deadline: The deadline for all overseas applicants who require a visa to study in the UK should apply no later than the 30th June 2013.
Teaching, learning and assessment: You will attend lectures and seminars, work in groups and carry out independent learning. You will be expected to participate in discussions, develop ideas and engage with experiential learning. Assessment methods will include management reports, essays, reflection on practice, and group work with presentations. A unique aspect of the course is the challenge to design, lead and reflect upona project that focuses on an external business partner. A central part of the programme experience is the regular involvement of guest speakers, who provide valuable insights into practice, contemporary trends and thinking.

Teaching hours and attendance: Modules studied on-campus require you to attend classes and carry out independent work. Attendance requirements at QMU will depend on which module you are studying and whether you are full or part-time. In most instances the taught elements of the full time programme occur on Tuesday, Wednesday(AM) and Thursday. Part-time students have the option to select different routes each year.

Links with industry/professional bodies: QMU is an Approved Centre of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the only professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. As an approved centre, we are working towards facilitating CMI professional qualifications within our
postgraduate awards.
