Sustainability in Project Management

Overview

This 1-day introductory course on sustainability in project management or ‘Green Project Management’ is perfect for people who are looking to augment their project management skill set with sustainable methodologies, or looking at the discipline from a ‘greener’ perspective.

Each course is led by an instructor that is GPM™ certified and specializes in project management and can therefore use real world experience when teaching. The course, which is a requisite to quality for the GPM certification, includes hands-on application using our EnVex methodology

Green Project Management courses will help you to:

• direct your outcomes towards energy efficiency, emissions (carbon) reduction, water efficiency, and waste minimisation

The EnVex is a hands-on learning approach to teach sustainable methodologies as they pertain to Project Management. This pedagogy is designed to augment the participants existing knowledge of project management through an iterative process, adding a framework of sustainability. Whether the participant is a PM with 20 years of experience or is just entering the field, this course will be of value.

Prerequisites

You should attend a Green Project Management course if you are:

• a project or programme manager who wishes to augment your skillset with sustainable methodologies
• responsible for implementing a sustainable approach to project management in your organisation
• looking to gain knowledge of how “going green” can enhance your project and programme delivery

By the end of this course, participants will have working knowledge of:

• What Green Project Management is and how it is different from main stream project management.
• How to effectively Initiate, Plan, Execute, Control, and Close a project using sustainable methods such as Environmental Impact Analysis tools, Environmental Management Plan Leveling, and Environmental Management Plans.
• The key differences between Project Management and Project Leadership and why they are both required to be an effective PM. This encompasses: Communication, Issue Management, Stakeholder Management andEnvironmental Factors
