The Programme
The course is a combination of practical lessons in our fully
equipped workshops and theory relating to the maintenance and
repair of motor vehicles. To supplement the programme students will
be encouraged to find work placements. This course introduces the
fundamentals of the vehicles main systems covering engines,

Numeracy and ICT) are also included in the programme.
The Programme Content
Entry Requirements
Although there are no minimum grades for entry, students must demonstrate a desire to work in the vehicle maintenance and repair industry, ideally wanting to progress to an Apprenticeship.
Costs
Students will need to purchase safety shoes and a pair of overalls. There will be a number of trips during the year that may incur a cost. There will be a fee of £30 for photocopying work books that candidates will use throughout the year.

Progression
Students who complete the course can enter the industry as a semi-skilled technician as an Apprentice, depending on work placements, or progress to the full time Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles. This is subject to interview.
