The Programme

This qualification offers the Level 2 Hair Stylist a career extension and development of skills, knowledge and confidence. During the course, candidates will complete a portfolio of evidence comprised of written assignments and examinations as well as practical assessments. The aim of the course is to further advance the basic skills learnt at Level 2 or to reinforce skills already gained within the industry. Your timetable will consist of modules of input, skills workshops and commercial salon work with additional science and study support classes to develop your knowledge and understanding of the topics. Additionally, you will have an opportunity during the course to attend various trade exhibitions and in-house manufacturers' product awareness workshops.

The Programme Content

The course will include the following units; health and safety, consultation, advanced colour, advanced cutting, colour correction, creatively dressing long hair, competition work, advanced styling and promotion of products and services.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have a full City & Guilds Level 2 qualification, or relevant industry experience and a work experience placement.

Costs

You may be required to purchase salon uniform, personal equipment and books costing approximately £200. All educational visits, manufacturer diploma short courses and other activities are paid by you*.
