The Programme
The Level 3 Business Diploma in year one offers a broad
introduction to business related topics and is equivalent to three

learners have no pre-existing business knowledge and begins with
introductory units covering the core areas of the Business
Environment, Resources and Communications, Marketing, Accounting
and Human Resource Management. All learners complete a compulsory
work experience placement. Building on this key foundation,
learners are encouraged to explore more specialised areas such as
Projects and Event Management, Creative Marketing, Retailing,
Business Ethics, and administration routes.
Learners may use the Diploma to top up their UCAS points for
university whilst others use the full Extended Diploma to achieve
the required UCAS points to continue their studies at degree
level.
The Programme Content
Currently consisting of 100% coursework, learners will cover nine introductory business topics to achieve the Business Diploma in year 1, which is the equivalent to three AS's. In year 2, candidates progress to the full Extended Diploma and explore specialist business topics in more detail. The programme assumes that learners have no pre-existing business knowledge and begins with introductory units covering the core areas of the Business Environment, Resources and Communications, Marketing, Accounting and Human Resource Management. All complete a compulsory work experience placement. Building on this key foundation, learners are encouraged to explore more specialised areas such as Projects and Event Management, Creative Marketing, Retailing, Business Ethics, and administration routes. Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above with at least a C in English and a D in Maths. Alternatively, a Merit grade from a Level 2 qualification is also acceptable.
Costs
Students undertake a variety of optional trips and activities for which there may be a cost. For example all learners are given the opportunity to participate in a European/UK residential for which there is a cost.
