Upon completion of this qualification, students are awarded an IOSCM Level 3, an SFEDI Level 3 certificate and an OLC Diploma. All certification fees are included in your course fees.

Qualification

Transport and Planning Operations 9 Credits

  • The role transport plays
  • Transport policy in relation to current legislation in our own country
  • Standardised transport equipment
  • Transport planning and external influences
  • How the demands for movement of goods are measured

Freight 9 Credits

  • The role of freight within the supply chain
  • Freight operation planning and different modes of transport
  • Understand how freight operations are regulated
  • Freight performance control techniques

Secure Cargo 1 Credit

  • Legislation, guidance and organisation requirments for securing cargo
  • Secure cargo safely in a Port

Introduction to Ship and Port Operations 12 Credits

  • Activities involved in shipboard operations in port and sea
  • Application of basic marine legislation
  • Key ship’s cargo and deck equipment
  • Shipboard geography, nautical and cargo terminology

Customs 4 Credits

  • Customs and Excise
  • Customs technologies
  • Documentation and procedures relating to the importation of goods
  • Operational requirments of Customs and Excise

Freight Forwarding 3 Credits

  • Importance of freight forwarding
  • Factors that influence freight forwarding
  • Appropriate infrastructure and equipment requirements for freight forwarding
  • Monitoring and control in regard to freight forwarding

This course can be taken over a 12 month period and you can complete it in your own time during this period.
