On this higher-level bricklaying course you will gain practical experience in our fully equipped professional workshop. As well as bricklaying, you will learn about arches and openings, various types of walling and all aspects of building.

- Erecting and dismantling access platforms (basic working platforms)
- Erecting and setting out masonry structures (brick and block walling)
- Erecting details in brickwork

Teaching and assessment
Written coursework and tests, final examination and completion of a variety of practical tasks including brick and block walls, arches, chimneys and inspection chambers checked to meet industrial standards.
The course is 40% theory work and 60% practical work.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs A*-D or full Level 1 Diploma or equivalent with Functional Skills in English, maths and IT at least at Entry 3 All progressing learners must complete an internal application form and achieve the full L1 Diploma with Functional Skills in English, maths and IT at least at Entry 3.
Progression
Employment as a qualified tradesperson.
