The qualification, which is specifically designed for the retail sector, aims to enhance leadership and management skills with employees in this industry. The degree course, which is an award of the University of Ulster, is a two year work-based programme delivered on-line and supported by group seminars and Master Classes. The course is made up of twelve units over two years. All units
are compulsory. There are three semesters in each year.

Year 2
• Manage and Develop People in Retail
• Work Based Learning

Course Aims
The aim of the Foundation in Retail is to reward students with improved chances of career progression, both within and outside the retail industry. On successful completion of the programme, your career is likely to develop within major retailers as store managers, marketing executives, retail supervisors, or buyers, or working as a marketing executive for organisations who manufacture products for retailers.
Because of the general leadership and management principals involved in this course, it will also enhance career progression in management roles outside the Retail Sector.
