Delivered by Nottingham Business School's International Centre for Public Services Management, the Postgraduate Certificate in Public Services Management aims to develop essential management practice and knowledge required by managers in the public services.

It is designed for public service managers who already have a degree and / or other professional qualifications at degree level or above.

The course emphasises and supports joint development opportunities to facilitate interagency working. It also provides an arena for networking with like-minded professionals in the public service field who can inform practice through shared experiences.

Course content

The course content has been developed to provide an up-to-date and relevant insight into specific areas of public service management directly applicable to the work place.

• Performance Measurement, Management and Monitoring
• Financial Control and Financial Systems

Assessment
You will need to complete three assignments spaced throughout the year, plus an optional practice assignment.

Full support is provided by tutorial staff and electronic media is available for use. The course employs a variety of teaching and learning approaches including workshops, small-group learning and set work for personal management development to enable you to enhance your performance.
