Specialist modules

Specialist modules develop skills and knowledge in an area of your own particular interest. In your second term you will complete three specialist modules. The specialist options we offer may include:

  • Performance Management
  • HRM in an international Environment and Designing
  • Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development Provision.
  • Organisation Design and Organisation Development
  • Developing Coaching Competence
  • Designing, Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development Provision
  • eHR
  • HRM in an International Environment
  • CSR and diversity in HRM.

The options currently being offered are Performance Management, HRM in an International Environment and Designng, Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development Provision

Induction

We welcome you to Nottingham Business School with an extended induction which introduces you to staff and allows you to get to know each other. It also outlines the programme and offers opportunities to explore the various learning and support resources available. It is also an integral part of the Research Methods and Professional Skills core module.

How will I be assessed?

A variety of methods are used throughout the course, including examinations and assignments. Assessments maybe essays, reflective reports or consultancy reports they will require investigation, critical analysis and recommendations for improvement. Assignments may also include both formative and summative assessed presentations. Other forms of assignment may involve selection interviewing or being part of a consultancy group seeking to win a training contract.

How will I learn?

Teaching and learning methods are centred around interactive workshops which are highly participative in nature. These include lectures, seminars, case studies, interactive workshops, discussions, business simulations and group activities.

In-sessional English language support

For those students whose first language is not English, the Business School provides in-sessional support for academic writing specific to the requirements of the course.

We are continually investing in our facilities, and transforming our learning and teaching environment to create an inspiring and innovative atmosphere.

The School is based in the impressive Newton Building on NTU's City site. In 2009 the building was involved in a £90 million regeneration project on the site. Whilst maintaining its historic beauty, the Grade II listed building was transformed into an ultra-modern complex.
