If you have ambitions to become the next David Bailey or Annie Leibowitz, this is the course for you. You will make use of both digital and analogue photography. You will work on projects that will enable you to develop a unique portfolio of work and forge a career in the world of photography. Is this course for me?

If you have ambitions to become the next David Bailey or Annie Leibowitz, this is the course for you. You will make use of both digital and analogue photography. You will work on projects that will enable you to develop a unique portfolio of work and forge a career in the world of photography. Year one The first year focuses on exploratory studies enabling you to generate creative ideas; you will have the opportunity to identify your preferred interests more closely through exciting and diverse project work. Year Two Within the second year you will undertake more specialist activities. The course culminates in a Final Major Project in which you will demonstrate the creative skills and knowledge you have acquired throughout the course. This work will form part of the end of year show.

What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

You will need five GCSEs grades A-C or a BTEC 1st Diploma at Merit and a strong portfolio of work. You will be invited to attend an interview and to bring a portfolio of artwork you have produced. A record of voluntary work or work experience would also be helpful, but most important of all is your commitment to the subject.

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography can lead to higher education to enable you to pursue photographic practice at degree level. Knowledgeable and helpful staff will be able to give you support when making decisions regarding your future. The majority of student’s progress to university and you will be expertly guided through the UCAS application process and supported to prepare a competitive portfolio for interview.
