Level 3 Fashion UAL Extended Diploma

This course consists of the following:

Year 1 - Full UAL Diploma equivalent to 1.5 'A' Levels

Students will develop the knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence required to work independently. Students will experience a broad range of fashion elements that explore specialist areas including:

• Illustration
• Garment manufacture
• Fashion photography
• Styling
• Textiles
• Drawing
• Life drawing
• Photography
• 3D making
• Digital Design

Year 2 - Full Extended Diploma equivalent to 3 'A' Levels

Students will have the opportunity to explore and specialise in a fashion area of their choice, leading to a final major project and portfolio of work for university or employment. Students will also be involved in an annual end of year fashion show using their own work.

Projects often link to live briefs and competitions. Students will also go on visits to galleries and exhibitions locally and nationally.

This course is accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body.

Students must have ONE of the following:

• 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English or Maths, plus Art, Design or Design Technology
• Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design (Fashion) at merit, plus GCSE English or Maths at grade A*-C
• Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English

A portfolio of art & design work demonstrating an interest in fashion is also required.

Adults 19+ who have industry experience BUT do not have the necessary qualifications can be invited in for interview.
