ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Typical applicants will be expected to have a minimum of two Highers passes, one of which should be Higher Art. Applicants should show an interest in and aptitude for the subject, or have successfully completed the appropriate non-advanced College course having shown good achievement. For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry subject to availability.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
Those who wish to pursue a career in photography, either entering employment or progressing to degree level study.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This course is mainly assessed on a continuous basis and does not include an external end-of-course examination. Coursework takes the form of essays, reports, presentations, case studies and practical projects. Most of the assessment work is undertaken by College staff.
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Successful completion will assist students to enter employment as professional photographers or work on a freelance basis. Alternatively, students may wish to progress to a degree course in which case entry to year 3 of the BA Professional Photography at RGU or to year 3 of the BA degree offered through the OU, designed for students who have gained an HND in a creative industries discipline are options.
