CAA Level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery

Is this course for me?

This course is designed to prepare students to enter the bench joinery industry. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions. Both the practical and theoretical outcomes are assessed to meet with industrial standards.

What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

Completion of Level 1 Programme required. Enrolment is also subject to a successful interview.

What does the course involve?

This course is a continuation from the Level 1 diploma in Carpentry and focuses on site work. You will have the opportunity to study:

• Setting up and operating a circular saw
• Producing setting out details for routine Joinery products
• Marking out from setting out details for routine Joinery products
• Manufacturing routine Joinery products

Assessed learners achieving excellent practical outcomes will, if you so wish, be entered into the Eastern Area Skillbuild competition. Success in this and the national competition can result in you representing GB at the WorldSkills competition. An excellent addition for any CV.

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? Upon successful completion of this course you can progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Bench Joinery or seek employment as a bench joiner.
