Spanish Advanced for Work
Who is the course for?
Polish up on your professional Spanish in a relaxed, fun and useful way. Whether you need the
language for business, change of career, to improve your career prospects, to refresh what you
learnt at school, this course is designed to equip you with those skills.
What are the entry requirements?
This is a high to very high-level course so you will need to have studied Spanish for three years minimum.
What will I study?
You will be working towards refining and improving your language knowledge through a series of activities that include debates, topical discussions, and role-plays around Spanish customs, traditions and current affairs. With the help of your tutor improving your ability to interact with a good degree of fluency and spontaneity in a work environment.
How is the course taught?
A variety of creative, modern teaching methods will be used to help you learn aspects of the
language such as vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing, listening and speaking. You will be
encouraged and supported by our fully qualified and highly experienced staff. You will be expected
to dedicate on average, between 1 and 2 hours a week on homework tasks to enable progression.
How will I be assessed?
At the end of this non-accredited course you will sit an informal, internally assessed speaking examination based on what you have studied in class.
By the end of the course what vocational skills will I obtain?
At the end of the course you should be able to understand the majority of what you hear in the target language, including references to the Spanish business, culture and society.
What materials do I need for the course?
Youwon’t be using a textbook as your teacher will bring in material. You will need to complete homework of course to ensure good progression. You will also need a bilingual dictionary, a file/folder, a pad of paper and pens, highlighting felt tip pens, post-it notes, etc. will all to help you learn better.

Fee A

Full Fee (Full fees for courses of 15 weeks or more can be paid in two instalments. You must include the first half with your enrolment)

Fee B

If you are:

• aged 16-18 years old on an accredited course
• on Job Seeker's Allowance or on Employment Support Allowance (Work-Related Activity Group)
• unemployed and in receipt of a means tested benefit (or are dependent of someone who is unemployed and in receipt of a means tested benefit) and sign a Declaration of Intention to enter employment
• aged 19-23 studying for a first full Level 2 qualification and do not already have a full Level 2 qualification or equivalent
• aged 19-24 studying for a first full Level 3 qualification and you do not already have a full Level 3 qualification or equivalent
• studying GCSE English or maths and do not already have a grade C or above
• studying an accredited English or maths course
• studying an entry or Level 1 accredited course and are aged 19-23 and have prior attainment below full Level 2. (This does not apply to ESOL courses)
• taking part in a Family Learning activity

Fee C

Exam fees are non-refundable and payable at enrolment. In some cases exam fees are to be confirmed.

You will be required to provide valid proof that you are entitled to receive a free course or a reduced fee at enrolment.
