Is this course for me?

This course helps to develop good practical tool skills, knowledge, safe working, organisation and planning within the chosen craft area.

This course is taught in a simulated building environment. Approximately 50% of the course is practical, in the workshop, and 50% theory, in the classroom. A number of practical assessments form part of the final qualification and examinations are multi choice questions.

What does the course involve?

This course will help you to develop knowledge and practical tool skills for brickwork. Working within a simulated building environment you will have the opportunity to study:

• Health and Safety working practices
• Trowel skills
• Basic block laying skills
• Basic brick laying skills
• Basic cavity walling
• Building methods and construction technology

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? CAA Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying. Students can also progress into work as a bricklayer, site manager or site supervisor.
