Dementia Awareness Certificate Level 2 (NCFE)

Course Summary:

There are approximately 750,000 people in this country who have some form of a dementia. This course is designed for anyone who wishes to improve their knowledge and understanding of the condition and of how to apply the principles of ‘person-centred’ dementia care.

This course is designed for anyone who wishes to improve their knowledge and understanding of the condition and of how to apply the principles of ‘person-centred’ dementia care.

The course will cover the following areas and consists of four units:

• Understanding dementia
• Understanding person-centred dementia care
• Understanding ‚Äòchallenging‚Äô behaviour in the context of dementia
• Applying a person-centred approach to dementia care

Career Progression:

The qualification aims to provide a sound preparation for further study and access to a range of vocational programmes, including NVQs in health and social care and other, more general courses.
