Do you enjoy learning grammar, reading texts and writing in Polish? Do you have a good memory and a logical mind? Yes! Then this is the course for you. Communication in any language is important but if you are considering a job working in either the UK or abroad - within business, travel and tourism, hospitality, interpreting or teaching - then having advanced language skills can be invaluable. What’s involved? Reading and writing will be continually practised through some or all of the following areas of study: Day to Day Issues • Media • Transport and communication • Food, drink, health and fitness Contemporary Society • Family • Religion • Free-time activities • Social issues Environment and Citizenship • Environmental issues • Urban and rural life • Science and society • Crime and punishment Working World • Education and training • Employment and unemployment • Commerce and industry The International Context • Holidays and travel • Impact of tourism • Aspects of life/culture of foreign countries Entry Requirements: Depending on the level chosen you may or may not already have some knowledge of Polish. Which courses go well with this? This course combines well with most other subjects. Progression: Further study at the next level. Languages can be studied on their own for careers such as translating, interpreting and teaching. Studying a language is also extremely useful if you want to work in business, marketing, journalism, law or any career demanding good communication.
