Level 3 International Diploma in Health & Social Care

This is a full time two-year course designed to be of particular benefit to individuals who envisage a supervisory or management role. Students will broaden their knowledge and gain important skills to you take on greater responsibilities. Ideally students will already have some experience of working in the health & social care industry.

The syllabus meets the demands of Degree courses that students are likely to progress to.
This course consists of a minimum of six compulsory modules in the first year with the completion of 18 compulsory units by the end of the second year. These include:

• Sociology
• Psychology
• Developmental Life Stages
• Maintain the health, hygiene, safety & security of the working environment
• Equality & Diversity
• Communication

Course Aims:

• To prepare and help students to achieve success in their working lives in a more senior health & social care role
• To provide students with an intellectual challenge
• To enable students to make an immediate contribution in employment
• Provide further underpinning knowledge of the health & social care sector in the UK
• Introduce the teaching and learning styles associated with university
• Develop your personal study skills in preparation for Higher Education
• Preparation of IELTS
• Support your university application

Students must have ALL of the following:

• 5 GCSEs A-C including English, Maths & Biology (or equivalent)
• A good standard of English: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (no component less than 5.0)
• Certificate of good conduct
• Criminal Records Bureau check (required in the second year)
