Abrasive Wheels Safety Training

This course consists of the following:

• Mounting and changing abrasive wheels on various grinding equipment eg. Bench grinders, angle grinders, grindette; Stihl saws
• Hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels and precautions which should be observed
• Methods of marking
• Methods of handling, storing and transporting
• The functions of all components used with abrasive wheels
• The correct method of truing and dressing
• The adjustment of the rest on bench grinders/pedestal grinders
• The requirements of the PUWER (The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
• Regulations relating to abrasive wheels
