Electrical/Electronic Engineering Level 3 BTEC Diploma

What's it all about? The course offers two routes into Electrical. You can train as an Electronic Engineer where you will develop circuits, panels and installations or manage and maintain production sites. You will work mostly out on site but will also spend time working in an office. You can also train as an electrician where you will fit, test and repair electrical installations found in homes and businesses. What skills and qualities do I need? A good understanding of Maths, calculations and Physics A careful, methodical and accurate approach to your work The ability to follow instructions What would I learn at College? How to install electrical circuits, lighting and power using diagrams you have developed and select methods of cicuit protection based on industry regulations How to produce drawings of components, assemblies and circuits that meet engineering standards using Computer Aided Design (CAD) How to design, plan and implement a basic engineering project The knowledge and understanding related to three phase circuits and supplies, balanced and unbalanced loads and their voltage, current and power values The features and applications of electrical machines including single phase and three phase motors and drive systems
