If you want to develop your knowledge of Equality and Diversity so that you can embark on a rewarding career or you are already working in a related field and want to improve your career prospects, then this is the course for you.
The aim of the Distance Learning Equality and
Diversity Certificate QCF (Qualification No.
500/8342/9) course is to help staff members gain an insight into
the issues around stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, to
identify the basic rights that all people should enjoy and the
shared values people have, and to examine the responsibility that
each person and organisation has in ensuring that barriers to
participation in society are removed.
The objectives of the material are to help learners to gain an
awareness of the issues surrounding equality and diversity and
demonstrate this awareness through their actions in the
workplace.
This course is designed to complement practical work, giving you
the theoretical understanding you need. You will look at the
various laws (legislation) which affect equality and diversity and
how your workplace has to take account of them.
Previous Knowledge Required
You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.
You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

The tutor will support the learner throughout the duration of this course. Completing a series of tutor marked activities and assignments will lead you to the highly acclaimed Certificate in Equality and Diversity QCF qualification.
