Please complete the attached " Health and Fitness Questionnaire" and inform your tutor verbally if you have any health concerns. Please bring the completed questionnaire to your first class. You are asked to complete this questionnaire once a year.
This course is for those wishing to gain some further knowledge of this Chinese 'energy' exercise and who have done a beginners course. Learn more basic exercises and Ba Duan Jin, the application of Tai Chi short form, Pushing Hands and elementary standing postures, which not only dissipate tension but stimulate clarity of mind and internal strength.

Learner & Entry Requirements:
Attendance on a previous Beginners and Improvers Tai Chi course is mandatory unless agreed with the tutor. Exceptions may include those with appropriate previous experience in Tai Chi of this style.
General & First Session:
Loose, comfortable clothing. Please do not wear hard leather shoes or high heels.
KAE is unable to offer refunds for any materials, equipment or books if the course is subsequently closed.
Course Aim & Objective:
To gain advanced understanding of the Tai Chi mini form and increase the range of Tai Chi movements through the short form. To develop form and an understanding of the application of the moves. Repetition of the fundamentals in the form of 30 minutes exercise. Elementary pushing hands.
To explore relevant Chinese historical and medical principles; and understand why Tai Chi is good for your health.
Assessment:
Informal assessment at the end of each class and completion of mini form exercises.
Course Syllabus:
Follow short form Tai Chi. Elementary standing postures. Emphasis on stretching and breathing work. Basic exercises. Walking in Tai Chi and other styles. Basic Tai Chi Short Form.
