This workshop provides an opportunity to learn and experiment with, the many and varied techniques of machine embroidery and relevant design development. Some sewing machines are available but you can bring your own.

General & First Session: 

  • Spring machine embroidery frame
  • sewing threads in variety of colours – 1 metre calico or similar plain neutral fibre
  • fabric scraps for appliqué
  • Bondaweb
  • sewing machine if you can bring your own
  • 7 needles, spools etc.
  • 1 metre medium weight sew-in-Vilene
  • basic sewing equipment
  • notebook / pencil, ruler, rubber etc.
  • A4 or A3 sketch pad
  • illustration of flowers.
  • Tracing paper.

Course Aim & Objective:

By the end of the course each learner will be able to develop skills using the sewing machine using all available facilities including free machine techniques and develop designs for coursework and projects.

Practical, projects, Q & A, Discussion.

Progression:

This workshop is intended to run one Saturday each month this term and next, for anyone interested in learning or re-learning the subject.
