The course aims to build confidence using computers. Initially mouse control and typing & formatting in the Word Processor will be covered, then surfing the Internet and setting up & using your own web based email.

Pen &paper. Glasses if worn.

To develop learners' confidence with using computers & give them the skills necessary to be able to "surf the net" and send & receive emails.

  • Find information of interest to them on the Internet
  • Send and receive emails
  • Further subjects may be covered but this will be negotiable within the group and could include:

Letters and Posters and/or

Cut & Paste and/or

Attachments and/or

Understand basic spreadsheets

Assessment – (homework, on line tests, and/or exams)

No formal assessment, tests or exams but students are set, and would benefit from doing, a small amount of homework (not compulsory however). Informal assessment by observation & discussion, question & answer, completing class work, successfully sending & receiving emails, self evaluation.
