Course Content

The Certificate comprises three mandatory units with a total value of 18 credits and optional units to the value of a minimum of 6 credits, making a minimum total value of 24 credits. 6 credits are brought forward from the Award in Preparing to Teach in the LifeLong Learning Sector.The Certificate requires at least 30 hours of teaching practice with a minimum of 3 observations totaling a minimum of 3 hours.

It is designed as a qualification which will equip a wide range of teachers and facilitators with a "threshold licence to teach".

The course is also suitable if you are seeking career progression within your area of work.

30 hours (minimum) of teaching practice

Entry Requirements

The qualification provides progression from theLevel 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector for those new to teaching and training, or those wishing to teach or train.
Literacy and numeracy at level 2 and special knowledge qualification of the subject to be taught.

What Next?

ATLS may be claimed through IfL on successful completion of the course.
