Teaching - Certificate in Teaching in the LifeLong Learning Sector (CTLLS)

This qualification for in-service teachers is aimed at candidates who are deemed to be in an associate teacher role or would like an introduction to teaching / training / tutoring in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

City and Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Teaching in the LifeLong Learning Sector (QCF)

Course Content

The Certificate comprises three mandatory units with a total value of 18 credits and optional units to the value of a minimum of 6 credits, making a minimum total value of 24 credits. 6 credits are brought forward from the Award in Preparing to Teach in the LifeLong Learning Sector.The Certificate requires at least 30 hours of teaching practice with a minimum of 3 observations totaling a minimum of 3 hours.

It is designed as a qualification which will equip a wide range of teachers and facilitators with a "threshold licence to teach".

The course is also suitable if you are seeking career progression within your area of work.

Entry Requirements

The qualification provides progression from theLevel 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector for those new to teaching and training, or those wishing to teach or train.
Literacy and numeracy at level 2 and special knowledge qualification of the subject to be taught.

What Next?

ATLS may be claimed through IfL on successful completion of the course.
