This course is one of the pathway choices for Level 3 Animal Management. In the first year you will complete a Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Animal Management together with an A’level in Environmental Studies. This pathway is perfect if you intend to progress onto Higher Education to study animal/ veterinary/ environmental science etc The course will be intense and is recommended only for those who already have a strong understanding and interest in science (I.e B+ GCSE’s or distinctions).

Exotics
Animal nutrition
A’level Environmental studies:
The living environment
The physical environment
Energy resources and environmental pollution
NB. All units are subject to change
Four days a week at college to include a mix of lectures, demonstrations and practical work.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs Grade C or above - to include English Language, Science (preferably B+) and Maths or Level 2 qualification in animal care with distinction plus level 2 functional skills . Recent experience in an animal care establishment is essential.
Next Step/Employment
Level 3 Extended Diploma Animal Management, possibly Foundation Degree in Animal Conservation and Welfare.Zoo keeper or veterinary nurse training. Self-employment or a wide range of employment opportunities including zoos, animal sanctuaries, farm parks, RSPCA, wildlife organisations, pet stores and more.
