Course Content
Over the course you will be studying some the following units:
• Government, Policies and the Public Services
• Team Leadership in the Uniformed Public Services
• Citizenship, Contemporary Society and the Public Services
• Skills for Water-based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
• Physical Preparation, Health and Fitness
• Skills for Land- based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
• Exercise Health and Lifestyle
In addition you will achieve the following qualifications.
Level 2 BTEC Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator
Events
First Aid at Work
Personal Development for the Outdoor Industry
Food Hygiene Certificate
The course also includes nationally recognised additional
qualifications in Sports Leadership and there will be an
opportunity to gain National Governing Body Awards in Kayaking and
Canoeing.
3 days per week - 1 day Practical
2 days classroom and research based
The applicant will be expected to find themselves a work placement during the other 2 days whilst not at college
Entry Requirements
- Minimum of four GCSEs at Grade A*-C, including English and Maths. Functional Skills at Level 2. Level 2 Diploma at Merit level. An enthusiam for outdoor adventure
- Interests in outdoor adventure/sport
- Minimum age 16
