Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Arboriculture

This 90 Credit Diploma is equivalent to one and a half A Levels. The course includes a large amount of practical work giving students the opportunity and confidence to become suitably skilled for a career n the arboricultural and tree care industry. Learn and practice modern methods of arboricultural techniques and tree care on the Kingston Maurward College estate and in local woodland sites.

Course Structure:

• Advanced arboricultural practices
• Tree felling and chainsaw use
• Woodland and habitat management
• Machinery use
• Tree establishment
• Tree care and pruning
• Tree felling
• Principles of silviculture
• Identification of trees
• Training towards NPTC qualifications in tree climbing and chainsaw use.

One year, four days per week. A mixture of practical and theory.

Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri (TBC)

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs, minimum C or above (must include English and maths) or alternatively a suitable Level 2 qualification. mature students will be considered based on their prior experience.

Work with landscapers, arborists or on estates.
