Three days a week at college a mix of lectures, demonstrations and practical work, PLUS one day a week work experience at an animal related organisation.
This course is likley to consist of two groups
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with work experience on either
Mondays or Tuesdays.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with work experience on either Mondays
or Fridays
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at Grade D (including English Language, Science and Maths) or a First Certificate in Animal Care at Distiction level and minimum GCSE Grade D in English and Science or level 1 functionals skills A genuine interest in animals, willingness to learn and the ability to cope with written work in a classroom environment. A work placement for 1 day a week in an animal establishment must be secured.
Progression/Employment
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Animal Management
- Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship
Employment as an Animal care assistant, veterinary nurse assistant, dog grooming assistant, kennel/ cattery worker, pet shop assistant
