Advanced ECDL Word Processing (MS Word)
The Advanced Word processing course is for learners who have already achieved the ECDL Extras qualification or another level 2 course in word processing. It may also be suitable for those learners who use Word extensively in their work place, but have no qualifications.
Qualification
BCS Level 3 Module - Word Processing Software
This unit carries 6 credits towards a higher qualification and when completed with the other three ECDL Advanced units will enable the student to apply for ECDL Expert status.
Course Content
The course consists of the advanced features of Word.
For example:
Extended formatting; Mailmerge; Macros; Tables; Captions
Comments; Table of Contents; Styles; Compare & Merge

Track changes; Master documents; Book marking; Section breaks
Although homework is not set, it is expected that learners will practise the word processing functions between classes.
There is a one hour British Computer Society exam at the end of the course.
Entry Requiements
Candidates should have at least two units of prior success at level 2 to be able to gain a full Level 3 qualification.
