Aromatherapy
This evening class will provide you with knowledge of the
principles of aromatherapy, and how aromatherapists practice
helping you to gain the relevant skills to obtain the V.T.C.T.
Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy within the College training
salon.
You will learn the benefits and techniques of aromatherapy massage
and the sources and effects of essential oils, and be able to
provide treatments safely and effectively to clients in different
circumstances. This is a practitioner level qualification which
will enable you to either specialise in your field via employment
or self-employment within the beauty or complementary therapy
industry.

Course fees include tuition, assessment and registration.
Additional fees maybe required for salon uniform, relevant products
and equipment. Full details will be available during the induction
evening.
The length of the course is 30 weeks - 1 x3hr lesson per week.
What Subjects will I study?
The qualification consists of four units:
Health, safety and hygiene for complementary therapies.
This unit will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and
skills to work safely and hygienically within the complementary and
integrated healthcare sector.
Principles and practice of complementary therapy.
This unit will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and
skills to enable you to practice complementary therapies.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary
therapies.
This unit will not be taught as anatomy, physiology and pathology
is a prerequisite to entry.
Provide aromatherapy.
This unit will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and
skills to carry out aromatherapy treatments using the techniques of
blending essences and carrier oils.
