What is the course about?

The origins, concepts and procedures of Aromatherapy.
Essential oils including Bergamot, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Mandarin and Peppermint & Carrier oils used in Aromatherapy.
Practical Aromatherapy massage techniques to the face, feet, back, neck and shoulders.

The content and outcomes of the course will be discussed with you and may be adapted to meet your needs and those of the group. As a guide by the end of the course you should be able to:
Appreciate main concepts and procedures of Aromatherapy
Have knowledge of uses of essential oils and carrier oils
Carry out basic aromatherapy techniques to the face, feet, back, neck and shoulders

To introduce the concepts and benefits of aromatherapy, for use on friends and family
Who is the course for and what level is it?
This course is designed for those looking to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle through physical activity or health awareness.
No previous knowledge is necessary.

What is your approach?

Through lecture, group discussions with question and answer sessions. Demonstration with explanations followed by student practice.

You will have an opportunity to maintain an Individual Learning Plan and your tutor will discuss your progress and achievement with you throughout the course.

What can I do next?

Workshops are available also covering Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reflexology. There are also qualification courses available in Aromatherapy and the above mentioned subjects.
Join a complementary health course perhaps on Reflexology or Massage.

What will I need?

Pen and paper and a file would be useful for handouts
Two large bath sheets and one pillow
Grapeseed oil (available from supermarkets for culinary use)
One saucer for use of oil
A dressing gown or sarong for use prior to being massaged. Please also wear loose fitting clothes for carrying out Aromatherapy
Please bring packed lunch/refreshments for the day. A drinks machine is available.
Are there any other costs?
£2.00 for use of essential oils supplied by the tutor.
