Masters Level Module
The prime purpose of this core module will be to strengthen students' research capabilities, and to equip them with the skills needed to undertake work for the report or dissertation that all students on the programme will complete. The module will draw upon the growing research literature on the policy and pedagogical aspects of post-compulsory education and training. The module will draw upon the growing research literature on the policy and pedagogical aspects of post-compulsory education and training. Its central theme will be identifying the features of successful small-scale educational research and the capabilities required by beginning researchers for investigating this rapidly changing area. At the same time, the module links closely with other modules in the programme where students will be expected to practise and build upon the research skills introduced in this module. The module will make extensive use of the experience of students in their respective workplaces. Apart from students enrolled for the MTeach, this module is also open to students following practice-based programmes in the Post-Compulsory Sector.
