It is, however, aimed only at those registered for the Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education Programme, Certificate, Diploma or MA, who are intending to submit their portfolio by 1st September, 2012. As the final module/workshop, it draws on the participants' experience of both teaching in higher or professional education and of the programme to date. The one-day workshop prepares participants to think about how they can use their portfolio as a personal and professional document to reflect their approach to teaching and learning. The session examines different philosophies and models of drafting portfolios. The two-day workshop will build upon this initial work and provide participants with an opportunity to address the key issues of teaching in higher and professional education, particularly those which they/or their tutors feel they need to develop further. It will include: further practical work on portfolio development; discussion and exploration of issues such as developing communities of practice, globalising the curriculum, notions of excellence in teaching.
