In 1988, Stephen Venables became the first Briton to ascend the summit of Mount Everest without bottled oxygen. Stephen reached the summit of Mount Everest alone but achieving this was by no means a one-man expedition.
Many people worked as a team in order for one man to achieve his
goal. It is this teamwork and common focus towards one target that
Everest Challenge focuses on. Everest Challenge was designed
with Stephen to simulate some of his experiences and create a game
based around climbing the highest mountain on earth.
The game starts with teams setting up a base camp and planning
their route to the summit from HQ. The remainder of the game is
split into two areas with team members outside completing physical
climbing themed tasks in order to move up the mountain and other
team members in HQ evaluating their progress and making amendments
to their route plan.
All communication from HQ to the climbers is via radio and it puts the teams in a real life situation where communication is difficult and time is of the essence.
