- At least 136 GCSE entry points. This should include English and Maths at D grade or higher or Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English. Alternatively, students who have successfully completed a full Level 1 Diploma qualification will be considered for a place on the course.
What will I be doing on the course?
Four mandatory units:
- Business Purposes
- Business Organisations
- Financial Forecasting for Business
- People in Organisations
Between four and eight additional units, for example
- Customer Relations
- Starting a Small Business
- Personal Selling
- Business Communication
- Consumer Rights
- The Marketing Plan
How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed by assignments, which are graded at pass, merit or distinction.

A text book and costs for any extended trips.
What can I do next?
- Progress to Level 3 qualifications, for example, BTEC Extended Diploma in Business
- Enter employment in the business sector
Additional Activities
English functional skills and personal, learning and thinking skills will be part of your main area of learning. Trips, visits and guest speakers will be included showing the theory being put into practice. Either work experience or a two day off site practical exercise will be part of your learning.
