Entry Requirements
- 200 GCSE entry points for the Diploma or 194 GCSE entry points for the Certificate, including English at Grade C or have a Level 2 Diploma at Merit level
- You will have to provide examples of art and design work at interview
- We also welcome applications from students with relevant experience or qualifications
What will I be doing on the course?
- Working with a broad range of creative individuals
- Making creative and innovative artwork
- Developing your Art and Design skills base
- Building a portfolio of work for HE application
- Taking part in an exciting range of enrichment activities
- Preparing for yourself for higher education and employment
How will I be assessed?
Through working on practical assignments and producing a range of products. Assessment is continuous culminating in a final major project. Key and Functional skills are assessed through portfolio and online.
What will I need?
All students need a basic art kit and sketchbooks, which they will purchase themselves. Additional specialist materials may also be required for specific projects. Regular gallery visits are essential and require additional finance.
What can I do next?
- Once you have successfully completed this course, you will have gained a nationally recognised qualification and developed your personal skills.
- You may progress onto a Foundation Degree or a BA Honours Degree across a wide range of art and design disciplines including the Foundation Degrees at Hertford Regional College.
Additional Activities
You will participate in our enrichment programme, which includes trips to galleries, museums and exhibitions within the UK and Employer Engagement workshops. You will have a personal tutor to support you through your UCAS application. You may develop English, Maths and ICT skills through taking Functional Skills qualifications.
