Edexcel GCE A Level Spanish

The Spanish A Level course is aimed at students with a passion for languages and who have a keen interest in Hispanic culture. Spanish A Level will give you the opportunity to acquire an impressive range of linguistic skills including an extensive vocabulary and range of grammatical structures. The aim of this course is to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and to enable students to use the language for practical communication at an advanced level. A wide variety of themes and contemporary issues in Spain and Spanish-speaking countries will be used as a basis for general language work. The exam consists of translation into target language, a target language essay, a research-based essay and an oral discussion. How will I be Taught? The course is based on the communicative approach: - active students' interaction; - emphasis on speaking and listening skills; - pair and group work and role plays; - use of authentic material; - use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate. Students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do homework as and when required. How will I be Assessed? You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course. Homework Mock examinations with use of past papers.
