Course Content

Students will study two core units:

  • Health & Safety
  • Working with others Plus a choice of two/four optional units from:
  • Milling
  • Turning
  • Grinding
  • Drilling
  • Fabrication
  • Fitting
  • Electrical Wiring
  • Soldering.

Assessment Method

Assessment is by:

  • City & Guilds practical assignments marked by the course tutor
  • Portfolio of evidence.

Progression

Students may wish to progress onto the BTEC National Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering currently offered by the College, or various Level 3 courses in the workplace.

Overalls, safety boots and a calculator will be required for this course. All students will be interviewed prior to starting the course.
