This course aims to give you an introduction to electrical installations (building and structures) and is ideal if you wish for career progression within the electrotechnical industry.
You will take two core units:
- Health and Safety, Environmental Legislation
- Practices, procedures and organising the work.
Additional units may include:
- Electrical installations technology
- Health and safety in building services engineering
- Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
- Principles of electrical science
- Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering.

Progression
This is a qualification that tests both practical and knowledge based skills in a realistic working environment. When you have successfully completed this qualification you will be at an Improver/Electrician’s Mate level. To become a fully qualified electrician you will need to progress onto Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology.
