BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Engineering Operations and Maintenance Full Level 3

Suitable For

This course aims to give you a broad grounding in Operations & Maintenance Engineering. the Level 3 Dipolma is equivalent to two A-Levels.

Course Content

You will take 6 core subjects:

• Communications for technicians
• Electrical principles
• Health and Safety
• Mathematics for technicians
• Mechanical principles
• Project - operations & maintenance Optional subjects may also include:
• Electrical installation
• Electro, pneumatic & hydraulic systems & devices
• Mechanical principles
• Monitoring & fault diagnosis
• PC maintenance.

You will also work towards an NVQ Level 1 in Performing Engineering Operations or study for an AS Level or A-Level in maths. In addition, you may be required to continue to study English, maths or IT as part of your course.

Assessment Method

Coursework and tests.

Progression

This qualification allows you to progress on to higher - level qualifications such as HND/Cs or degree level programmes. It can also act as ideal preparation for a career in the power, water, green energy, food, manufacturing, petro - chemical and textiles industries.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including Maths and Science, BTEC Level 2 Diploma (including Merit in Maths, Science and one other unit) or other relevant qualification.
