Course Content

Students will study the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Year 1 (1 A level) and upon successful completion of this will progress to either the BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma. These are equivalent to 2 and 3 A-Levels respectively, allowing you when you have finished the course to either get a job or go directly into higher education. The subjects covered will focus on particular aspects of employment within the sector, providing you with the underpinning knowledge needed, as well as developing your practical skills. Subjects covered include:

• Customer Services in Travel & Tourism
• Holiday Representatives
• Incoming & Domestic Tourism
• Residential
• Study Visit
• The Cruise Industry
• Tour Operations
• Tourism Development.

Progression

This qualification helps you to progress on to higher - level qualifications such as a degree or professional qualification. It can also act as the ideal preparation for a range of jobs in the public or private sector.

Additional Information

This course will be delivered in the first year as a one year Subsidiary Diploma and if relevant grades are met learners will continue onto the Level 3 Diploma in their second year.
