Course Content
Students will study four subject subjects areas spread over three units:
- Number
- Algebra
- Handling Data
- Geometry The College will provide study materials which will also be available online via the College VLE.
Assessment Method
AQA Exam Board Linear Course, with external exams in June with all three unit exams taken in the same series. The external assessment includes calculator and non - calculator work.
Progression
A good pass will allow candidates to progress to A-Level.

Please note Duration: One year (part-time, day or evening sessions
are available) This course is delivered by a variety of methods
including Teacher led sessions and the use of interactive computer
programs. Students will be expected to equip themselves with a
scientific calculator and geometry set. An interactive GCSE Maths
CD will be available to purchase from the College at cost price.
GCSE Maths is available at two levels, Foundation Tier which goes
from G to C grade and Higher Tier, which goes from D to A
grade.
Students will be individually counselled by their teacher as to
which level will be most appropriate for them. It is anticipated
that in order to keep up to date with this course that students
will need to complete at least five hours of study per week at

Entry Requirements
16 - 18 year olds will require a Grade D GCSE Maths.There are no formal entry requirements for mature students (19 years old+ ).All applicants will require an informal interview with the course tutor and to complete a diagnostic test before commencing the flexible course.
