Our BSc (Hons) in Entrepreneurship is delivered over three ten week semesters, over two years. After the first semester, all of our students will have acquired the necessary skills to create their own low-risk micro business. Online businesses to be precise – created in teams. The total outlay of each business will be to a maximum of £50, an investment provided by the University. The remainder of the learning in year one will focus upon developing each of these online businesses. They may become multi-billion pound success stories or they may come to nothing. Either way, the learning will be immeasurable.
In year one there will be a focus on supporting entrepreneurial thinking and business start-ups, with an emphasis on business, management and marketing later in the course. However, this is flexible in order to offer the right business support to each student.
Learning will be gained from a variety of sources. Some of our University lecturers will be called upon to teach essential skills such as basic finance and marketing. This will be reinforced by continuous access to real-life entrepreneurs and business leaders. We have access to a huge network of business professionals, all of whom are generous and altruistic with their time and knowledge – they want others to succeed too and are passionate about supporting ambitious and enthusiastic students of business.
The general requirement is 240 UCAS tariff points at GCE A Level or equivalent. Appropriate AS-Level and Level 3 Key Skills qualifications will also be taken into account. In addition applicants must have five GCSE passes at grades A, B or C including Mathematics and English.
